Leopold Woitas was born in Trembachau, Poland on November 13, 1878. He came to  Minnesota with his parents at a very early age. Anastasia (Bruski) Woitas was  born February 23, 1889 at Warsaw, North Dakota. They were married November 7,  1904. In 1912 they moved to Canada with five children They built their  homestead in the Lake Alma area. As the years passed they had nine more  children.

The Woitas family always had a lot of company. Sunday afternoons were spent  going to aball games, playing cards or horseshoe, or just visiting.

The barn was built in 1919, and saw many dances. Picnics were held in their  yard.
